Outlook
Email & Calendar integration
Yes. Obsidian supports Microsoft Outlook for email access, draft composition, and calendar synchronisation.
What the Outlook integration does
Connecting Outlook to Obsidian brings Microsoft 365 email and calendar into your adviser workflow. View and search client emails from their Obsidian record. Draft personalised responses without switching applications. Calendar events synchronise between Outlook and Obsidian so meetings always appear in your day plan. The integration uses Microsoft OAuth with support for organisation-wide admin consent, so IT teams can approve access centrally.
What advisers can do
-
Email access
View and search client emails directly from their Obsidian record.
-
Email drafts
Compose draft replies from within Obsidian, ready to review and send.
-
Calendar sync
Keep meetings in sync between Outlook and Obsidian automatically.
How it works
Obsidian connects to your Microsoft 365 account via OAuth. Once authorised, emails to and from client addresses appear on the client record in Obsidian. Draft replies composed in Obsidian are saved as Outlook drafts. Calendar events synchronise bidirectionally between Outlook and your Obsidian day plan. For organisations with restrictive policies, IT administrators can grant consent centrally via the Microsoft admin console — individual users do not need to approve separately.
How to connect
- 1
Go to Playbook → Apps in Obsidian.
- 2
Find Outlook and click Connect.
- 3
Sign in with your Microsoft 365 account and authorise access.
- 4
If your organisation requires admin consent, forward the approval link to your IT administrator.
